Turnbull & Asser

Summer 2015

  • CSS3
  • HTML5
  • JavaScript
  • Jekyll

POKE was commissioned by premium outfitters Turnbull & Asser to create a media-rich and luxuriant new front-end e-commerce site, and I led the development team that built it. We produced a comprehensive set of individual modules and full-page templates that were integrated into a new back-end by Magento developers Folk.

Key challenges included the responsive integration of high-resolution images and video of Turnbull's beautiful products and processes, so that customers on all devices would have a close-fitting and superlative browsing and ordering experience.

We produced a fully documented and version-tracked module catalogue as part of a static front-end build that used Jekyll to provide local templating while avoiding the complexity of a full back-end. ExpressJS was used to simulate API endpoints for AJAX functionality. We then handed our work over to the back-end team at Folk who integrated it into Magento.

POKE’s case study on this project is well worth a read.
