New London Architecture

Winter 2016

I worked with SOON_ on several feature additions and improvements to their suite of apps for New London Architecture's New London Model. This huge and impressive model, on display at the Building Centre off Store Street, showcases land use, infrastructure and property development projects across the city, with overhead projectors that illuminate informational layers and highlight individual developments, and a huge screen that displays accompanying video clips.

These media are driven by a Cordova-wrapped AngularJS app running on an iPad, and Electron apps running on OS X and Windows to power the screen and model projectors. Together these make up an immersive and educational experience used daily by dozens of members of the public.

Later development in a return visit to SOON_ focused on supporting NLA's newest model, a larger-scale feature on the City of London itself.

The NLA website has more on the New London Model.
